Mike in Chayofa

Specifically, what are the motivations behind the tragic events of the last week, or so.

I cannot get this incident out of my mind and I think that one of the reasons is that I just cannot understand it.

There are certain murders that although you can't condone them, you can at least understand the reasons, but this particular one has me baffled.

There are many words that you could use to describe this particular killer but is it caused by an illness? I can't think of any other explanation because it just can't be 'learned' behaviour or upbringing that makes someone do this.

Apart from the 'why', there's also the question ... how did he think that he was going to get away with it?

maybe because he has gotten away with it before.

or he believes that the law has no suitable punishment.

statisticly most murderers have killed before(not necessarily another human maybe an animal) and have realised that they recieve a rush from it.

don´t knock your selfout trying to rationalize it or understand it mike it will just drive you loopy like them.

bring back hanging for crimes against the person then we don´t have to think about the loonies again.

really getting sick of looking over my shoulder and I AM A GUY christ hate think what the wimmen feel.

stop thinking about the murderer mike and help yourself by thinking good thoughts for the family.

I can't even imagine what they are going through (and hope that I will never be in a position to know what it is like)

I think that I'll go and do something productive to try to stop thinking about it cos I really can't get it out of my mind. Distraction is what I need!

If you really want to know whats makes people kill, read the book "Talking to serial killers". The book includes interviews with 8 or 9 american serial killers and the gets inside their minds.

I have to agree with Robbie about killing before. You hear it all the time
'little johnny was a lovely baby, then when he started school he bagan pulling wings off flies, then when he was a teenager he put the cat in the microwave, but we didn't think he would ever kill anyone'. yeah right.

Mike I know what you mean when you say you can't stop thinking about it. I couldn't even post in the original thread when she was reported missing because I knew what the outcome was going to be in my mind, even though I prayed I was wrong. I have thought about it every day for other reasons. My daughter is 17 and even without getting dressed up she looks a lot older than she is. Since moving here she has made quite a few friends and I know they are all good people. Some are older than her and tend to 'look after her' but I am constantly on the phone to her now asking where she is, even though I know she is always given a lift home, and is always with at least two other people. What saddens me more, is we moved to Tenerife to give the kids a better life and get away from the constant assaults, stabbings etc where we came from.

Mind you having said all that she has an older brother and a younger one so she always gives as good as she gets. She has got a right hook like a bloke.

I once saw an interview with Jeffery Dalmer. If my daughter brought him home, i'd have found him a very polite well mannered young man. I find that chilling.

But from the point of view of someone who lives approx. 2 miles from this lot

Unfortunately there is the saying "there is no such thing as a criminal until they get caught"

Todays society is a sad one, where people do not respect others in any form, the nice ones always get hurt, the ones that have always worked for what they own seems to have it taken away, if you are proud of something you have achieved there is always somebody to knock you.

I do not believe it is down to genetics or family upbringing, as there is no way people can say they do not know the difference between right or wrong, people are still human and they do have feelings and we all know from a young age what it feels like to be wronged and we can all make our own decisions about how we react to different situations and we are all aware of the concequences of our actions.

I have always said "treat others as you expect to be treated" you cant go wrong with that attitude and if they dont treat you the same way, I have no time for them.

That might sound harse, but I find in todays society thats the only way to be.

Morales and manners go a long way.
