Can my UK bosses deny me my holidays unless I find my own cover?
Yes peeps it's back to my crappy company and it's so called managers....
I asked my company for threes days holiday, (i've given them two weeks notice) and was told i can only have my holidays, if i find someone to cover my job.....
Can they deny me my holidays, if i can't find cover?????????

Yep I think so......... only going from my own experience so not 100% sure but im pretty sure they are within their rights to require more notice than that....
I dont know to be honest...they will obviously have to honour your holidays before the year end but I assume its up to them when to allow you to have them..... as I say I may be wrong though, only going off my own experience....
My son had a similar problem. He is a personal trainer and works different shifts. When booking his holiday he was told by his manager that he could take his holiday when he liked provided that he found cover for all of his shifts that he would be away for. I thought this was a bit odd as surely it is down to the gym manager who does the rota to find cover and told my son so. He went to his manager and stated that as he did not get paid to do the rota, and his contract made no mention of finding his own cover when on holiday, he would be giving notice of his holiday and leaving it to the manager to sort out cover ,the manager said it would be no problem and he would sort out the rota himself. I think sometimes they just try it on. It is easier for them to tell you to get cover than for them to actually change the rota.

Maybe they are trying it on..i dont know. However I wouldnt suggest going in too heavy handed with the management. If it isnt written into the contract how much notice you need to give I think it has to be down to when the manager deems it a reasonable time (ie. a quiet period)....I wouldnt advise demanding holiday....
