BA has just been fined by the Office of Fair Trading for colluding with Virgin Airlines on fuel surcharges. BA could have been fined around £800 million for doing this, but were lucky to escape with a £121 million fine. Virgin are immune from prosecution as they blew the whistle on BA, but were as guilty of the offence. I don't think Virgin should be immune from a fine? What do you think? I also think that all those that paid excessive fuel charges as a result of the collusion should get their money back. BA will later today be fined by America too.

The trouble is they will recoup their fine eventually by increasing flight prices.

Instead of fining them they should be made to reduce their fares

BA and Virgin have been doing dirty tricks against each other for years.

I've just read one of Richard Branson's books and the things they have done and the amount of money they have cost each other is crazy. Boys and their toys comes to mind!
