A UK immigrant's perspective ... does it sound familiar?

I've just found THIS, and it really touched a chord as an immigrant's perspective ... a Mexican in the UK ... and it says something nice about the UK too

What beautiful letters Janet. It just shows you that pre-conceived ideas (which we all have to a certain extent) are often way off reality. She went out and made an effort, just as we all living here should be doing.

That is lovely and you can hear yourself saying the same things but in reverse: uK versus spain - food, supermarkets, freshness of food, selection of stuff, doing things you didnt think you were capable of, seeing your kids in traditional dress.
Thanks for that one

It really is a touching story. I would have loved to have read all the letters and the responses back. Nice to know someone likes the UK - whoops, no I didn't mean that at all - what I meant was she was not moaning about it, she has settled there, despite her husband losing his job and decided to stay on.
