Question I don't eat oranges when I'm stressed, do you?

An interesting report HERE today says that Vitamin C is pretty useless as a preventative treatment against colds UNLESS one is under stress ... it seems that Vitamin C reduces the risk by HALF!

Seems to me that if it is so effective on people under stress, it must only work if the immune system is already depleted. How would we have evolved to do this ... I don't have an instinctive urge to eat oranges when stressed!

Anyone got any theories on any of this??

Chocolate does it, stressed or not. It works to lift the spirit from the depths and takes you smiling to great heights if you're not.... in the depths

Oranges are messy to eat but you can tell a person's character from the way they approach them e.g.

spiral peel.... artistic, imaginative

octagonal sections (Mercator?)..... extremely calculating and organised

ripping the peel and biting in..... no inhibitions

pulling off tiny bits of peel..........nervous, tense.

Satzumas seem to be the most popular variety in the lunchbox because they are quick to peel and divide easily into sections; just right for our rushed, stressed lives.
Have you dipped sections of orange into a chocolate fondue? MMMMMMMmmm!

Didn't mention Vitamin C did I?

I like them all, even the lemon ones...yum, yum. Iceland sell them, too far from Callao though, plus Iceland just closed.
