Question I have a PC sound problem - can anyone help?
It could be me being stupid.

I know that my speakers are working but I have no sound on any of the UTube links on the funny adverts thread.

Any suggestions as to what could be wrong?

check settings maybe the Mute button on.
Sorry should have said in control panel....

Thanks - but it isn't.

I have sound on WMP, WinDVD, VLC and DIVX but not on the internet - it was OK last night

Check that the volume on the video clip is not turned down.... bottom right of the clip window

Have you checked all the different channels on your volume control panel?

Double click the volume icon (little speaker) in the taskbar (bottom right) and then check that all the channels are unmuted.

IE7 - and the box is ticked for 'Play sounds on webpages'

There were updates installed yesterday - must admit that I didn't look to see what they were.

I've checked everything that I can think of. If there was no sound at all, it would be easier to find the problem. The trouble is that I've been puzzling, searching and checking things all day and even it it was something really obvious, I probably wouldn't see it now

Ok just in case, can you roll your system back to before yesterday and see if the sound comes back perhaps?
