Thumbs up A new job, a new challenge!!!

About 6 weeks ago, I was approached by the owner of a company who offered me the opportunity to run his business. I met with the owner on several occasions and after two weeks of consideration, I accepted the offer.

Today I resigned from my job and will be leaving the company that I have been with for seven years and I must admit that my decision to leave was one of the hardest decisions that I have ever made. However, the offer that was made to me was too good to pass by.

I have learnt during my working life that money is not the most important factor in a job, job satisfaction needs to be there too. My current job pays well and I am well thought of by my employers. I was content to serve the remainder of my working life with the company. However, I did feel that I had reached the highest position that I could and to be honest, I felt like I was just a cog in a wheel.

I was not actively seeking new employment and it was out of the blue that I received a telephone call from a complete stranger offering me a fantastic opportunity to further my career. My new boss to be, has matched my current earnings and has asked me to find a car of my choice to get me to and from work and he will purchase it !! Although this is a very attractive package, this was not that led me to make my difficult decision.

I will be in total command of the operational part of the business and although my new company is not as big as the one that I am leaving, I have been "head hunted" to develop and expand the company. My desire to build the company and my goal for personal achievement is the real reason for me taking up the offer.

Sorry to ramble on, but I just wanted to share my good news with as many of my friends as possible as I am so pleased with myself right now

Well done Beekay. Now why not work on opening a branch in Tenerife where you would of course be able to base yourself.

Dave, I am in the double glazing industry. I doubt if there is much demand for it over there?

Beekay i've never met you and probably never will but it is a genuine pleasure to see someone so excited by a new opportunity.

Congratulations and good luck!

Congratulation from me too and I wish you all the very best. I'm just starting out in a new venture. It's had work but I am getting there very slowly. The problem I have is everything is mañana mañana over here.
All the very best

Well that made me smile.

Having said that a lot of places are now using double glazing in Tenerife. I would presume that it is to cut down noise rather than keep heat in. I know a fair number of people here with double glazing but I think it would take some pretty good marketing to make it a viable business here.
