Does anyone have an interesting story or reason for having a tattoo done?

Hi All

Just thought i would ask as im feeling so pleased with myself for finally having what ive wanted to have done for over the last year

Just over a year ago my bestest most special elder brother passed away ( only 35) and ever since hes been gone i wanted just that little thing on me that always reminded me of him, although he would never be forgotton something that would always catch my eye ( eg a tattoo ) and oh boy do i hate needles

so today after work, i had an appointment booked at the tattoo place and had a small dove ( so the bird of love) even though you all allready knew that, on my back,,, with a love heart at its beak and then some tear drops falling from the heart only small and im not a keen to see tattoos on women as some can look so un ladlylike ( oh my god am i calling myself a lady!!!! (NOT) LOL and my hair is usually always down so its hidden unless i have my hair up at the pool or the beach Anyway it looks lovely, even though very very sore and red im just so pleased and was wondering if anyone else wants to tell their reasons for having a tattoo

Now that is the best reaason I have ever heard for having a tattoo, personally like you I am scared of needles but one day I will have my little Welsh flag done.

I have two. One at the top of each arm. The first was pretty insignificant but the second one means a lot to me.

When I took redundancy from work after 20 years my colleagues threw me a great party on my last day at work. I received many lovely gifts from people but the best was money in a card from some of my closer colleagues. The instructions with it were to have a tattoo done as that would be a permanent reminder. There was £20 left over so I had my nipple pierced at the same time - OUCH.

OUCH!!!!!!!!! and here was me worrying all day about a needle on my back!!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone tells you it does not hurt then call them a liar

. It was the most painful thing ever I could not even bear a sheet touching me for 3 nights.

Nice but sad story Scotsthistle.

I have Steve on my shoulder after my Dad and Grandad. I never knew my Dads Dad as he died before I was born but as long as that tattoo is there I know they're there looking after me!
