There is a new virus out there that is being passed round via MSN messenger you will recieve a message from someone you know along the lines of "see this animation of bush dancing" the link points to a file called "bush.exe"

DO NOT accept the file, it is a virus.

Should any of you already have it this is the way to remove it.

Boot into Safe mode
Delete the following files
C:\WINDOWS\Cfreer.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Negdo.exe
C:\WINDOWS\a1.exe
C:\WINDOWS\s1.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\d1.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\f1.exe




*** WARNING *****

You can do serious damage to your system here if you are unsure/uneasy about doing this call in a professional.

Run regedit

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run

remove the following items.

WindowsUpdate C:\WINDOWS\Cfreer.exe
Windows C:\WINDOWS\Nzil.exe
SystemUpdate C:\WINDOWS\system32\Negdo.exe
WindowsK C:\WINDOWS\a1.exe"
WindowsD C:\WINDOWS\s1.exe
SysteZ C:\WINDOWS\system32\d1.exe
SyZ C:\WINDOWS\system32\f1.exe

restart the system and run a FULL virus scan

I'm most grateful for this info including the way to get rid. Myself and my son are always on msnmess so I'll pass it on to him before he uses it again today.

Thanks for the warning welshsprout, I have not come accross it yet but will look out for it. I never open up any attachments anyway and my anti virus software is up to date and checks incoming mail.

I have found out this week there is a Spanish version doing the rounds and a number of others.

One of the latest is something like :-
"Have a look at this photo I took with my phone, one of my neighbours hit a lamp post"

If a messenger/chat window pops up from ANYONE asking you to accept a file first ask them in the same window if they have just tried to send you a file. Never assume as it is (usually) coming from a friend it is ok.


These viruii work by infecting your computer and then sending out chats (with a link to the virus file) to people on your contact list without you knowing, so very often the person who is infected is completly unaware.

I had ths from a friend who's laptop had a virus, luckily the anti virus that Sunny1 and hubby put on my computer nipped it in the bud!!
