Is it Windows Live Messenger your using?
I keep getting the error message 8E5E05F6 whenever I try to log on. I've tried system restore and have spent hours wandering around trying to find a way of deleting it and then installing it again but nothing seems to work.
If I go into my Contacts page, I can sign in there but I really want that little box back so that I can see who is online to chat to. Can anyone help?
I have Vista Ultimate.

I've never had a humble opinion. If you've got an opinion, why be humble about it?
Yes it is.

I've just looked at that Andy and reckon I'd best wait until tomorrow to try it out as I've had a couple of brandies!
Thanks for the replies x

You could try and remove the program by going to Control Panel>Add Remove programs, find Windows messenger and remove it first. Then reboot your computer and download here.

Thank you Andy and Brown Mouse. I've been trying to get it back for a couple of weeks and it has been driving me mad.
Done it now though...........yippeee!
I had to find the hidden files and delete the Windows Live Contacts folder. Then I signed into Messenger and all was well. Took two minutes in the end and I'm happy again.
Just shows what a couple of glasses of brandy can do.
