    Thumbs up Tenerife Football Stadium

A shrine for many of us the Tenerife Stadium sits in the middle of Santa Cruz and the pre match atmosphere in the bars can be great.
The best boozers are the Gin-Tonic down from the ground in Calle San Sebastian and just above the groung the noisy "El refugio" were some of the more radical fans sing and drink.

Once inside the stadium the best crack is in Grada Gol behind the goal the sun can get into your eyes but the songs are non stop for 90 mins.

And it is cheap, 10 euros to get into that end

Let´s see ya there supporting the boys in blue and white!

    Sunday October 22nd 6pm kick off CD Tenerife(3rd) v Hercules(Alicante)(5th)

The girl from Operacion Triumfo"Idaria" will kick off the game and sign autographs etc.

don't forget to mention visiting the AS website, Mr Perry (link in my sig)

go on www.armadasur.com. All that info is posted on the website and forum as soon as it is available. There's a fixtures list, league table and info on matches/coach times as and when they are released by the club.

Forgive me for not putting it all here, but it took ages to put it all on there!

I'm always tired, I have a toddler and a baby... hence the mood icon!

CD Tenerife play against Levante on the 11th of December.
Levante played last season in Primera and have ex-Leeds and Irish International Ian Harte playing for them.

We will not know until about 10 days before when the game will be.
Either on the Sat. at 5.30pm or on Sunday at 5pm depending on TV Canaria.

I will put details on this forum if that´s ok.

    What do you mean????

Armada Sur has been organising trips from the South for years!

Go to the website for details : www.armadasur.com

Residents and tourists come to every game - we run at least one coach and sometimes two.... there were 3 last week!

Spread the word and support your local team.

Whats the average attendance at home games?

Are 'we' still in the cup (IE is it possible to draw barca, or real Mad)?

Which division are we in (old money please)?

    How much is entrance?

    How much is the bus?

No, we're not in the cup anymore. Last year we narrowly lost to Real Madrid - it was a travesty!

We are currently 6th in the Segunda A division - equivalent to the Championship... or the league below the 'Primera' or Premiership.

For residents you have two options...

**If you're a member of the Armada Sur fanclub (recommended if you intend to go to three or more games over a
season), it's 16€ for you and 25€ for any mates that come with you that are out on holiday.

**If you just want to go to one or two games, it's 25€ a game.

If you are on holiday, it's 35€

All prices include coach to and from the game and match ticket.

Coaches go from the Toby Jug on match days and also pick up at the Las Chafiras exit of the motorway for the Golf and Silencio etc.

Membership of Armada Sur is closed for this season now, as last year we had people trying to become members when they found out we had drawn Real Madrid in the Cup in order to get cheaper tickets, yet they didn't bother coming to another game.

However, if you are genuinely interested in attending games throughout the season with us, please PM me or Fred Perry and we might make an exception.

Members also receive discounts on AS merchandise and away trips.

Fred Perry is the Armada Sur President and writes the CD Tenerife match report for Island Connections and our fnaclub Vice President, Frank, is a member of the CD Tenerife board of Directors (the first ever expat director) so we have good conections and relations with the Club.

    Cheers for the info Kirsty

I Probably would not be too interested in Saturday games as i spend most of the weekend on my back in the sun but mid week night games would be of interest to me. Even at €25 inc coach travel seems very good value. Pitty about the crowd size though. Whats the grounds capacity?

Didn't we (look at me referring to the club as "we" already) have Emerson from Middlesboro until recently?

We had Emerson between 1997 & 2000. We also had Roy Makaay for 97-99. Both were then bought by Deportivo (which we beat 3-1 in January 2001 in the Copa del Rey)

The capacity for the stadium is 21732

Night games only usually occur for cup matches. A lot of games are played on a Sunday - they are only on Saturday if TV Canarias are putting them on. The crowd is usually better on Sunday games, as a result.

There will be one wednesday game, which is played on the wednesday before xmas. This year it's on the 21st December against Ferrol, if you're interested.
