I'm looking for cheap accommodation in Los Cristianos or Playa de las Americas

Hi, just working of finding a job in Tenerife (might have something sorted) and i need to find a cheap 'Non-Scuzzy' flat or hotel until i know where i stand with work.

This could be a cheap and basic hotel, a studio flat, residential caravan or even a strong fridge-freezer box with a view.

Could be for up to 3 months (maybe longer) so dont want to go 'Too' downmarket. Also would like to remain around Playa / Los Cris areas if possible.

    Any ideas?

I think from experience, book into a hotel for 1 or 2 weeks, then look once you are here, as there are alot of scuzzy places for rent.
It is best to actually see what is being described as the most wonderful apartment, area will be important too, try & get the best your budget will allow if you live in a bug hutch you will be miserable & move, costing more in the end. Also make sure you get a proper rental contract, it will be in Spanish, they should run you through it if they are good.
Work out what your budget is then look, try & get bills included too.
    Good luck, hope this helps

You could book into a pension... cheap and chearful! There are 3 I know of in Los Cris. . One is on the opposite side of the road to Baby Boom on Avenida de Suecia and another is on the next road down towards the sea parallel to Avenida de Suecia (called Juan XXIII) and is opposite the Devon Arms. The entrace is next to the Perfumeria. It's marked with a 'P'. There's also one near the front, but I'm not sure exactly where... somewhere off one of the side streets near Burger King.

    "Book into a pension"

Sorry, whats a pension; is that like a hostel?

I like the idea of just having a hotel room for a week or two (possibly longer) as all i'll be doing is sleeping there after all .

Then if i find something i'm free to move the same day.

But if i could find a good cheap studio flat / appartment in PDLA, Los Cris, Torviscus; then that would be problem solved.

I'll be sharing with a mate, so 2 bedroom place is needed.

Sorry!... after living out her so long you forget that some words are different!

Yes... a pension is similar to a hostel or a B&B. You pay for the room nightly. it's usually about 20€ a night. Some have shared bathrooms, whereas other may have them ensuite with the rooms. Depends on the pension in question, but they're usually very clean and a good base to go looking for something more permanent.

    Studio letting

Hi, I have a studio that I am looking to rent out if you are interested and it is in the Los Cristianos area. Its at the Castle Harbor complex on the 5th floor. The complex has a 24hr reception, pool, tennis courts, bar and resturant. Also, has a lift to all floors.

    Regards
    Gavin
