I had full acrylic nails put on for a wedding 6 months ago. They looked so good I kept them on, having them infilled every 3 weeks.
2 weeks ago they were beginning to bother me so I had them removed. What a shock
My nails underneath are wrecked. They never were very strong & always flaked; now they are so bad & unsightly, I do not know if they will ever recover.
I used 4 different salons for the infills, & every salon, including one in Tenerife, assured me my own nails would not be damaged underneath
not true at all.
If my nails ever recover I have been told that having just tips, instead of full nails is fine, as the cuticle is not covered by the acrylic so nails can breathe.
Anyone considering full acrylic nails, think again. I know they look lovely, but the damage they do maybe irrepairable.
Sorry to all you nail technicians out there, but my nails are proof of the damage done. I have a friend who has had the same problem.
