| Santa Cruz market used for US TV chef programme, Made In Spain
Santa Cruz's main fruit market was the scenario yesterday for filming for a popular US TV programme featuring a well-known Spanish chef.
The show, Made in Spain, focuses on Spanish gastronomy and is anchored by 39-year-old chef, José Andrés, who runs a chain of exclusive restaurants in the Washington area and shot to fame here with a TV cookery programme in 2005. Andrés visited the market in Santa Cruz with cameras as part of a special feature on Canarian food and the historic role of the islands in terms of the introduction of varieties of fruits and vegetables on both sides of the Atlantic.
