| Tasca El Aljibe, Playa San Juan, Tenerife Newly opened in August this Tapas(and full meals) restaurant is on the fron tin Playa San Juan. Walking away from the harbour it's the 6th "local" on your right. Lots of locals eat there. The name means "waterpipe" and that's the theme of the very modern decor, it's spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly and helpful, and, yes, they do speak English if you struggle with the lingo. Freshly cooked tapas are 2.50, the liver is to die for and albondigas scrumptious, Heiniken is 1.20 a bottle, coffee a Euro and they do a great Ribero del Duero Red wine at 11.50. There are a couple of up market and expensive restaurants in Playa San Juan, but this is probably the best local tapas bar. __________________ I've stopped doing drugs recently 'cos I found out if I get up from a chair real quick, it has the same effect!
